Overview

Define the ice-bucket test before production.

White art paper provides the background for a chilled-bottle label with foil or relief detail. Ice-bucket performance needs to be approved for the finished label, on the bottle and under the conditions in which it will be served.

Specify the bottle, application conditions, immersion time and service temperature. Select the paper, adhesive, ink and finish as one construction, then inspect a finished sample on the actual bottle after the agreed exposure.

Craft

Details to approve.

The material, artwork and finish work together. Review these decisions before production.

Approve the white point

Review the bright white paper with the printed artwork. The actual sheet determines the background colour and surface detail.

Combine foil and relief

Foil, emboss, reverse UV and raised digital effects can be specified. Approve their masks, registration and appearance on the selected stock.

Test the finished label

Check the complete label after the agreed wet-service trial. Review edge lift, surface damage, print and appearance rather than the paper alone.

More label FAQs
Has this label passed an ice-bucket test?

Performance must be validated for your selected construction. Agree a method and acceptance criteria, then approve the exact finished label on your bottle before production.

What conditions should the trial include?

Record the bottle surface, application and conditioning process, water temperature and immersion duration. Inspect the print, surface, bond and label edges afterwards.

Can I add glow-in-the-dark ink?

A glow-ink effect can be discussed as a special requirement. Confirm availability and the required appearance through a specific quotation and proof.

Can foil and emboss be used on this paper?

Both can be specified. Review the selected paper, masks and finished sample together, including the agreed wet-service trial.

Does the paper need a special adhesive?

The adhesive is selected for the bottle and application process. State the approved construction in the order so it can be reproduced.
