PET Label Film

Polyester film for labels that must stay flat, stable and legible under heat, chemicals and years of handling. White, clear and metallised; the durable choice for home care, industrial and premium packaging.

  • White, clear and metallised polyester with gloss or matte lamination
  • Highest temperature, chemical and UV resistance of the standard films
  • Dimensionally stable: stays flat, no shrink, crisp small text and barcodes
  • Permanent and high-tack adhesives; PET liners for high-speed lines

The quotation states the exact grade, gauge, adhesive and liner for your application.

Variants

Three PET variants

Same polyester base; choose by appearance and by how much of the container should show.

White PET
White PET

Opaque white base for durable product, chemical and compliance labels. Gloss or matte lamination on top.

Clear PET
Clear PET

Crystal-clear film for the no-label look on glass and clear plastics, with white ink where the artwork should be opaque.

Metallised PET
Metallised PET

Silver base for metallic effects on premium and technical labels. White ink controls where the silver shows.

Limits to plan around

  • Stiff: not for curved, squeezable or textured containers. Compare BOPP, PE or vinyl.
  • Costs more than BOPP: specify it where heat, chemicals or durability call for it.
  • Clear PET shows the adhesive: use a clear adhesive and a PET liner for the no-label look.
  • High temperatures still have a limit set by adhesive and lamination; tell us the process and we check the data sheet.

Adhesives & liners

Adhesives and liners for PET

The face stock is only half the label. The adhesive is matched to your surface and conditions; the liner to how the labels are applied.

All adhesives
PermanentLong-term bond for durable goods and compliance labels. The default on PET: the label is meant to last as long as the product.
High-tackExtra grip on powder-coated, textured or low-energy surfaces.HDPE drums, painted metal, rough plastics.
Cold-useFreezer and cold-chain labels that stay legible.Applied at room temperature, then frozen or chilled.
RemovableFor reusable equipment and returnable containers.Less common on PET; confirm removal on your surface and time frame.

Liners: glassine paper for standard rolls; PET film liner for high-speed application and clear-on-clear labels.
Artwork

Artwork and print notes for PET

What to prepare so the material prints and cuts the way you expect.

White ink layerOn clear and metallised PET, colour is printed over a white ink layer. Supply it as a separate layer or let us prepare it.
Small text and barcodesPET stays flat and sharp; small compliance text and barcodes print reliably. Tell us the scanning requirement.
Lamination for chemicalsChemical and abrasion resistance comes from lamination as much as the film; specify the exposure.
Process temperaturesShare any heat step, sterilisation or hot-fill so we check film, adhesive and lamination limits.
FAQ

Questions about PET

See All FAQs
PET or BOPP?
BOPP for most bottle and jar labels. PET where the label meets heat, chemicals, UV or years of handling, or where it must stay perfectly flat.
Can PET labels survive dishwashers or sterilisation?
Many PET constructions tolerate higher temperatures than BOPP, but the limit depends on grade, adhesive and lamination. Tell us the process and we confirm against the data sheet.
Will a PET label wrap a curved bottle?
Gentle curves, yes. Tight curves and squeezable containers need a more conformable film such as BOPP, PE or vinyl.
Metallised PET or foil?
Metallised film gives a metallic base across the whole label at lower cost; foil adds a bright metallic accent on selected areas. They can be combined.
Is clear PET compatible with PET bottle recycling?
Some clear PET label constructions are designed for PET bottle recycling streams; it depends on adhesive and ink. Tell us if this is a requirement.
