Challenges

Problems we solve in candles

The problems that come up most often in candle projects, and how the construction answers them.

Challenge

Frosted and coated glass

Labels lift at the edges on frosted, matte or coated jars.

What we do: high-tack adhesive on a paper or film face stock, with samples applied to your jar and checked after a few days for edge lift.

Challenge

Warm jars and tins

Heat from the burning candle softens adhesives and curls paper labels near the top of the jar.

What we do: adhesive and position chosen for warm-container use, and film for warning labels on the base; we confirm with your container and wax.

Challenge

Premium texture versus small text

Linen and felt papers look right but swallow fine warning text.

What we do: textured paper for the front label and coated paper or film for the warning label; type sizes checked at proofing.

Challenge

Hand application in small batches

Labels applied by hand go on crooked or bubble on curved jars.

What we do: easy-peel liners, sheets or small rolls, and label shapes sized for the curve of the jar; roll specification when you move to a machine.

FAQ

Questions about candles labels

See All FAQs
Will the label stay on a frosted jar?
With a high-tack adhesive, yes. Frosted and coated glass needs a test: we send samples in the proposed construction for you to apply and check after a few days.
Does heat from the candle affect the label?
It can soften adhesives near the top of the jar. We choose adhesive and label position for warm-container use and confirm with your container and wax.
Can I use textured paper for the warning label?
We recommend coated paper or film for the warning label so small text and pictograms stay legible, and textured paper for the front label.
Can I order several fragrances in one run?
Yes. Quantities are quoted per design and the construction stays the same, so every jar in the range labels the same way.
